Five Minute Friday: Rest

by Mollie

We are trying Five Minute Friday today!  Where the Gypsy Mama tells us to:
Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

So today I wasn't going to post.  I am feeling a little tired and lazy on this hazy Friday morning.  I had a sweet friend spend the night at my home and was enjoying a little time with her before she left for work and doing some puzzles with Zoie.  I carved out a few minutes to do my devotional but I only sat down to do it for a couple minutes.   I was sitting at the computer while Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was on and catching up on what everyone is doing in the bloggy world.  I came across this article from One Fun Mom about Five Minute Friday she links up with The Gypsy Mama and today's challenge was writing on rest.  It quickly came to my mind that the only time I find rest is at the foot of the cross.  I only have productive days when I start and end my day with the Lord.  Spending time learning about His love for His children never gets old.  In the couple minutes I sat down to read this was in my devotional: "In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead" Colossians 2:11-12   What a gift that Jesus came to take the place of tradition and allow us to have a personal relationship with our Creator!  If you have not had the privilege of accepting Christ into your life and into your heart and you have questions PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me (info@yellowmedaisy.com)  NOTHING would give me more pleasure than talking to you about our Lord! Off I go to finish my devotional and get some "rest" before the "rest" of my day...

Well that was my 5 minutes...

Blessings!
